Whether it’s a new design, top-class speakers or unusual locations – every year, events outdo each other with new methods to attract more visitors*. Unfortunately, these events are often not accessible to everyone because of stairs at the entrance or the lack of sign language interpreters*. RaĂșl Krauthausen was also invited to lectures, where he could not reach the stage as a wheelchair user because a ramp was missing. This led to the idea for the info page Ramp-Up.me. All those planning events are given tips here on how to make conferences and congresses accessible to more people. Furthermore, it is important to us to achieve more diversity in the program, i.e. to get more speakers on stage who represent the whole spectrum of society, such as women, people with disabilities, with a history of migration or different sexual orientations.
