Wheelramp

In 2012, we initiated the Thousand and One Ramp project for Germany. The idea: For every 100 euros donated, we will get a mobile ramp to which stores and restaurants can apply. Local groups and ramp ambassadors then distribute the mobile step-bridgers.
Since many stores asked for an alternative to the donated ramp, we introduced sales via our social heroes UG (haftungsbeschränkt) on the website www.Wheelramp.de. The profits will go to the Sozialhelden e.V.
Sponsoring campaigns with companies that subsidize or completely finance a large number of Wheelramps take place again and again – previous partners were Ergo, Gelbe Seiten and Allianz.

For us, this means that an important goal is being fulfilled, namely to improve the status quo of places on the Wheelmap marked as “inaccessible”. This will make cafés, restaurants and many other places more wheelchair accessible.

It’s a project you can touch, easy to implement, and a concrete impetus for communication: the folding ramp is attracting great interest from local media.

And another side note: thanks to the donations financed and sold by the ramps, we have long since reached the goal of 1001 ramps. But we are happy to continue!
